Every so often, we meet a bride we just can't live without, and sometimes, they choose to get married out of our regular service area ~ so we have to take our design gig on the road. Amanda was just such a bride! Amanda's sister is a good friend and wedding industry colleague so I've met Amanda and Joe a few times over the years at fun parties and gatherings. I was ridiculously excited when Amanda inquired weather I would consider helping her design her wedding and flowers for her big day Lake side in Incline Village, Lake Tahoe.
An intensive wedding planning meeting of was held in March up in Tahoe with record snow. Amanda, her sister, mother, soon to be mother in law and I hunkered down in a beautiful cabin and over wine in front of a roaring fire, in our jammies ~ we planned the design details of Amanda & Joe's day. Wedding planning intensive ~ perhaps a weekend wedding workshop was born.
Truly, I can't think of anything more fulfilling as a designer, than working intensely on a plan, sketches, swatches, pictures, layouts and palettes, than getting to that wedding day with a bride and see the reality of all those months, hundreds of emails and many hours ~ turn into reality. I am addicted to the outcome!
Though a destination wedding has some major hurdles for us to navigate, working with a team of incredible professionals make our work run smoothly, with the best outcome for Amanda & Joe. Matt Edge Photography was absolutely wonderful to work with. Lauren at the Hyatt Incline Village, Julie Briggs Dunn at JBD Events, Sonny at Exquisite Events were all great to work with.
